| Close polls and the fact that Democrats are getting out-spent in several battleground states force us to reckon with a very uncomfortable potential outcome: If we don't have the resources to combat these attacks and turn out our voters, Donald Trump could be president next year, and with a Republican House and Senate, there would be virtually no check on his power.
