My secret to refocus, decompress, and reconnect…

I love hiking.
Whether I'm up in Mountain Maryland or down on the Eastern Shore, my hikes have become important bookends for my weeks.
They're moments for me to reconnect with myself in nature. With my family. And – even if it sometimes takes a treat or two – our dog Tucker, too. 🐶
If you're with me in this work to make progress for our beautiful state, I would be so grateful if you chip in today.
It's crazy that I've ended up spending so much time in the great outdoors. I was a city boy, and growing up, much of what I knew about the woods came from horror movies.
Before I joined the Army, the most time I'd ever spent in the woods was when I'd tried running away from military school in the middle of the night. Seriously.
But, these days, I relish time with nature. I have a nonstop schedule as the governor of a state of six million people and I spend long stretches away from my family. So, spending time out on the trails gives me a chance to refocus and decompress. It lets me come back to my work ready to fight for the future of Maryland.
We have a lot of that work left to do, and I'll need all the help I can get from this grassroots team to stay in the fight.
Our work in Maryland is more important than ever. Will you chip in any amount today to power our campaign?
