It's official. Last week, we won our primary election, and I am proud to be Illinois' Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate!
This victory was powered by grassroots supporters like you. Together, we overcame more than $10 million in MAGA special interest spending — and we won.
But if this primary showed us anything, it's that MAGA Republicans are determined to stake their claim in Illinois — and this Senate seat is their first target.
I wish I didn't have to ask so soon after such an exciting win, but I'm counting on strong grassroots support to defeat my Republican opponent and prove that their playbook won't work here.
So I'm asking you directly:

I was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, and service has always been at the heart of who I am. My mom was a public school teacher. My dad, a Navy veteran, was a doctor in community health. They taught me that when you see a need, you step up. That's exactly what I've done — first as an advocate for criminal justice reform, then as a state representative, and now as Lieutenant Governor alongside Governor Pritzker.
But I'm not just a politician. I'm a mom who raised a family while caring for my mother as she battled Alzheimer's, so I know firsthand the struggles working people face. That's why every day, I wake up committed to ensuring that every Illinoisan — no matter their ZIP code, background, or income — has the chance to thrive.
But Trump and his allies? They are doing the opposite. They're waging war on working families to bankroll their tax breaks and ignoring our needs to look out for their own. Too many politicians in Washington are afraid to fight back, but I refuse to just stand by and watch.
I'm running for U.S. Senate because we need fighters in the nation's capital. These aren't normal times, and we need leaders who will bring new ideas and new perspectives to Washington.
For decades, politicians have made empty promises to working families on the campaign trail that never materialized into solutions. Not in Illinois. Governor Pritzker and I didn't just talk about solutions — we delivered them. We raised the minimum wage, protected reproductive freedoms, made our communities safer from gun violence, relieved millions in medical debt, and made education a priority — even when members of our own party thought progress wasn't possible.
That's the fight we're leading here in Illinois and the fight I will bring to Washington. Working people deserve a champion who doesn't just talk — but delivers. I will be that leader, but I can't get there alone.
MAGA special interests have already spent more than $10 million attacking me during our primary. Now, they're preparing to double down to stop our movement for working people from reaching Washington.
We can't afford to lose momentum or slow down — not when more attacks are on the way.
This fight is bigger than Illinois. Together, we will create a country where working people come first.
Thank you,
Juliana Stratton
