👀 What's At Stake:
🌎 Threat #1: A Full-Scale Attack on Climate, Food, and Transportation Justice - House Republicans are launching a coordinated attack on the Inflation Reduction Act and broader climate, energy, food, and transit programs that working people rely on. The GOP's proposals would:
- 🔋 Gut clean energy tax credits for solar, wind, clean vehicles, home upgrades, and manufacturing—especially hurting working-class communities and Republican districts already seeing cost savings. The budget would also slash $6.5 billion in funding for programs that lower household energy costs and fight pollution.
- 🥬 Slash $230 billion from essential food programs like SNAP over 10 years—including stricter work requirements and limiting who counts as a caregiver, hurting single parents and older adults.
- 🚶🏽 Kill Transportation Equity Programs by eliminating nearly all funding ($3.2B) for the Neighborhood Access and Equity program meant to reconnect communities divided by highways. The bill would also slap a $250 fee on EVs—far higher than for gas cars—just to punish people making the switch away from fossil fuels.
🛑 Threat #2: The "Nonprofit Killer" Bill - A new bill (H.R. 9495/6408) would give the Trump administration sweeping power to shut down nonprofits they don't like—no due process, just political targeting. Civil rights groups, labor unions, and advocates across the country are united in opposition.
🏥 Threat #3: Attacks on Healthcare
- Slash Medicaid by $880 billion, and would "reduce the number of people with health insurance by at least 8.6 million in 2034."
- Punish states for covering immigrants and DACA recipients
- Ban gender-affirming care from insurance
- Gut funding for health providers and research
- Reverse drug price controls

- $150 billion for mass detention and deportation
