Here's how they judge our candidates — and how that process is broken:

Hey, it's Ben Young — I help recruit and support candidates at Leaders We Deserve.
Here's something you won't hear in public: When quarterly fundraising reports come out, DC insiders obsess over them. They look at those numbers and decide — often without ever meeting the candidate or even researching them — who's "viable" and who's not.
That's backward. That's how we end up with the same types of politicians — wealthy, connected, cautious — while the status quo continues to fail the rest of us.
But here's the thing: When we help a candidate raise money the right way — through grassroots support — it not only funds their campaign, it opens doors. It gets other organizations and donors to pay attention. It helps build their operation and name ID.
We're not just trying to elect people who already raise a ton of money — we're helping young leaders build power from the ground up. But to do that, we've got to hit our own goals first.
Can you pitch in before midnight on August 31 to help us hit our $25,000 goal and prove that this model works?
