I owe you an explanation.
You'll probably get a lot of emails like this one over the next few weeks, but let me explain why I'm asking you for a donation and why it's so important for our campaign.
2026 is an election year in Maryland — but for nearly three months of the year, I won't be allowed to raise a single dollar so that we can focus on the important work of driving progress forward for Marylanders.
But that's a real challenge for my team. Those early months are when most campaigns build their momentum. It's when they get the fuel for their organizing, advertising, and ability to define the race. And that's what my Republican opponents will be doing the entire time my team has their hands tied.
While we're in the fundraising freeze, Republicans will spend every day raising money, meeting with Trump's advisors, and collecting massive checks from special-interest donors who want to flip this seat.
That's why the short time we have left is critical. We've got less than a month to bring in the resources we need to stay competitive. There's no "catching up" later — only a sprint that starts right now.
