We've got a problem, but Katie Porter is never without a plan.
The problem: Two new polls show Katie Porter being pushed out of the primary. In California, only the top two vote-getters advance to the election in November. And though early polls show us in a position to win a general election, a celebrity Republican is gaining traction and could knock us out during the March primary.
The plan: Our team put together a budget to reach every single California voter possible with our TV and digital ads explaining Katie's record and agenda. We've assigned each of you to sponsor a "media market" to maximize our reach. We want to start running these ads very soon.
The topline budget number looks scary. If we don't see a big surge in donations in our final 60 days, we can't execute the entire plan. And that could mean we lose in the primary round, no matter how well Katie would have done in November. Yes, that means not only is Katie Porter not the next senator from California, but we lose her voice in Washington entirely.
We can't afford to lose Katie Porter's voice in Congress. This is where you come in. As a Californian, we've assigned you to your media market in Los Angeles.
Running a single TV advertisement in the greater Los Angeles media market costs us an estimated $3,025,000. So based on our typical donation, we need about 127,368 people to help us run ads in this area. Are you able to sponsor the Los Angeles media market to help Katie win? ⇢ Yes, I can help reach voters in the Los Angeles market by donating $25 to reach about 71 voters. ⇢ Yes, I can give $50 to reach 143 voters. ⇢ Yes, I can give $100 to reach 286 voters. |
These ads are necessary because the latest polls show that around 1-in-5 voters have no idea who they'll vote for. Many of them don't know much about what Katie stands for, or her track record of fighting for us in Congress. But as soon as they see our ads, we know they'll want to vote with us.
The whole plan is expensive. California's a big state to advertise in! But when you break it down into little chunks, it's clear that there are enough of us who want to see Katie Porter in the Senate to meet our goal.
Team Porter has never let us down before, and we know we can count on you this time, too.
All the best,
Team Porter
