Hi Jason — just wanted to re-up this ask. I hope you'll give me a brief second to explain why it's so important. Earlier this week we learned that a handful of candidates raised more money than us last quarter. We asked for your help closing the gap so that we don't get outspent by such a large degree.
If we don't pick up our pace, other candidates will buy more ads on TV and online. They'll send out more targeted mail, and hire more people to do voter contact work. Bottom line is they might have more resources... and that means they can reach more voters.
The good news is our campaign has more individual donors than most of the two-dozen candidates in the field. We have a lot of room to grow if we can get some of you to step up and donate again, and others to donate for the first time.
We're emailing because we really need the help. Last quarter about half of all our money came from people like you clicking on emails like this one.
But so far, our numbers in July are not looking good enough for us to catch some of the top fundraisers in this race. If everyone reading this note right now steps up to give what they can, we can turn that around.
I want to be clear: we can win this race. But we'll only win it if people like you help us get there.
