I haven't emailed you in a couple weeks. We paused our fundraising emails to help out here in El Paso. I haven't emailed you in a couple weeks. I hope you're well. We took a break from fundraising. I'm not "Mr. Earnest Email" but it was truly beautiful to watch this community come together after the attack. With your help, we helped bring in a lot of resources for victims and survivors. But here's the rub: after two weeks of not fundraising, we've got a shortfall — $500,000 to be exact. That's because emails (like this very email you're reading right now) are the number one way we raise money.

We asked you to help close the gap, and as of right now, about 2,671 people have donated. I'm not a math whiz but our numbers people say that we'll need 16,104 more donations before the end of the month to hit the goal. If we can get that, we'll be good to go.

I'm sure you saw that Beto went back out with an incredible speech about the campaign he wants to run: one that directly takes on Trump, calls out injustice, and goes to every community where the president's hate has caused harm so we can lift them up.
