Jason,
Beto just gave a stirring speech in Arkansas.
On the heels of tragedy in El Paso, Beto laid out how we can move forward as a country on some of the toughest challenges we face. From how we grapple with a history of racism, to how we stop losing 40,000 lives a year to gun violence.
It's not about just one party or one people getting what they want out of our democracy. It's about all of us coming together, identifying not as Democrats or Republicans, but as Americans first and foremost. We're not going to fix problems as serious as racism or gun violence with only half measures or half the country. It's got to be all of us together.
In times like these, it's not enough to sit on the sidelines. In a democracy like ours, it's on all of us to make things right. That's why, as Beto said, we need to shock the conscience of America.
Make sure to watch the speech till the end — it builds and builds as you watch. After you see it, if you know friends or family who've felt discouraged or disengaged by our politics, this is a good opportunity to share a speech like this from Beto. We all need a little inspiration right now.
