We're proud to endorse Irene Shin for Congress in Virginia's 11th District.
The daughter of Korean immigrants, her family instilled in her the values of service, hard work, and integrity. She learned early on that the promise of America, which families like hers sacrificed so much to pursue, wasn't always a promise as much as it was a possibility — one you had to fight for.
She decided to challenge the system and run for House of Delegates in 2021, defeating an ineffective incumbent. During the past four years in Richmond, Irene has taken on the establishment and won, delivering real results for Virginian families.
And now, she's taking on a broken political system that helped a 34-time felon win the presidency again. That's why we're thrilled to support her campaign for Congress.
Irene knows that business as usual isn't just failing — it's dangerous. While Trump dismantles our government agency by agency, too many Democrats are running the same tired plays. But Irene is stepping up — and she's doing things differently.
Irene's progressive record speaks for itself. In the Virginia legislature, she has:
- Fought the hospital lobby, insurance industry, and utility giants — and won.
- Passed Malcolm's Law to save lives from fentanyl overdoses.
- Expanded health coverage for pregnant Virginians.
- Stopped utility shutoffs during deadly heat waves.
That's what real representation looks like, Jason.
