People sometimes say that Maryland is a "blue state" — but that's not exactly true.
Two of the last four governors of Maryland have been Republicans. Just three years ago we had a Republican governor. Reelecting Wes is no guarantee, and with Republicans jumping into the governor's race to beat us, we can't take anything for granted.
