Can I tell you a story?

Before I get into it, I need to ask: Can you pitch in $5 or more to my re-election campaign today?

You may not know this about me, but I began my career in public service as Pennsylvania's Auditor General.

Every day, before I walked through the front door of the Finance Building in Harrisburg, I'd take a moment to read the inscription above:

"All public service is a trust, given in faith and accepted in honor."

These are words I live by to this day.

As your Senator, I am reminded daily that you have trusted me to fight for what's right. I work to earn that trust by standing up for you and your families: against Republican attacks on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid; against tax cuts for the ultra-rich; against economic adversaries like China that threaten our jobs with unfair trade practices; and against big health care companies raising costs for the middle class.

My record as Senator makes it clear who I'm fighting for in Washington. My Republican opponent, on the other hand, has a decades-long record of selling out working people and shipping jobs overseas — to enrich himself and his Wall Street friends. That's why the stakes are too high to sit out this election.

I am once again asking for the honor of your trust.

My re-election fight this year promises to be among the country's most expensive and competitive Senate races. I will fight to defend this seat and our Democratic majority, but I need you on my side.
