It's the start of yet another dangerously hot summer. The severe heat wave dominating the U.S. Southwest this week has led to heat-related hospitalizations, wildfires, closures of recreational areas, temperatures as high as 112 degrees, and asphalt temperatures as high as 162 degrees.1
In fact, we've reached 12 consecutive months of broken heat records2 and are on track for worsening heat conditions every year of our lives unless we act.
