Jason,
I've spent the last week listening to people in Minneapolis who are living in fear of masked federal agents stalking their neighborhoods.
And I'm furious at what's happening in Washington.
After the killing of Renée Good and Alex Pretti and the siege of Minneapolis, Senate Democratic leadership is preparing to fold.
Under pressure from the White House, Chuck Schumer is signaling that Senate Democrats will accept a weak DHS funding deal that keeps ICE and CBP fully operational, fully funded, and fully unaccountable.
Let me be clear: Congress has the power to stop this. Democrats must do everything they can to restore and defend the rule of law. That's why Carlos Eduardo Espina and I are rolling out a 10-point plan to hold ICE accountable and reform immigration enforcement:
✅ Vote no on the DHS funding bill.
✅ Repeal the multi-year $75 billion funding for ICE.
✅ Impeach Noem and Bondi.
✅ End qualified immunity for ICE agents.
✅ Investigate and prosecute every single ICE agent who broke the law.
✅ End the Kavanaugh stops with racial profiling and the militarization of ICE.
✅ Codify a use-of-force standard so courts can enforce the law against rogue ICE agents.
✅ Tear down and replace ICE with an agency that has oversight.
✅ Prohibit masks and mandate body cameras and visible identification for immigration officers.
✅ Establish human rights standards at immigration detention facilities.
ADD YOUR NAME: Support my 10-point plan to address ICE's abuse of power.
