How do we take Texas back?

Throughout the week we had seen giant beams of light moving through the night sky over El Paso and Ciudad Juárez.

Dear Jason,

Last year 17 Texas State House Republicans won their election by less than 10 points. We can flip these seats by reaching un-registered Democrats. 

There are almost 90,000 people in these 17 target districts who have voted Democrat in the past but aren't registered to vote at their current address.

We only have to win nine of these seats for Democrats to have a majority in the Texas legislature. Victories in these districts will mean an end to racist gerrymandering, and a chance to address gun violence, reproductive rights, Medicaid expansion, criminal justice and climate change in Texas.

Their work will also be very positive for Congressional races, helping us to hold two newly won seats and picking up more — 6 seats were won by Republicans with margins under 5%.   

And these newly registered Democrats will help us make Texas competitive for our Presidential nominee.

In 2018, I carried nine of the 17 districts now represented by Republicans. So we know that we can do this.
