Here's how to help fight voter suppression

As Beto likes to say, nothing beats talking to voters directly.

Jason,

This week, HB 6, an egregious voter suppression bill, took a huge step toward becoming law in Texas.

This bill along with SB 7 – which passed the State Senate last week – constitutes the greatest attack on voting rights in Texas in nearly a decade. These bills won't just make it harder to vote, they will disenfranchise working Texans and communities of color.

That's where you come in, Jason. The antidote to voter suppression is voter engagement, and as Beto likes to say, nothing beats talking to voters directly.

That's why Powered by People is hosting a phone bank next Tuesday, April 13th, to call previously identified Democrats in Webb County to check in about the issues most important to them.

Can you join Beto, Jason? If you're a conversational Spanish speaker, we'd love for you to attend!

Calls like these are how we make progress. Winning in Texas will take an army of grassroots volunteers connecting with millions of voters, but I can personally attest that every single call we make brings us one step closer to flipping Texas blue in 2022 and beyond.

Please, we need to stand up for democracy at its time of greatest need.

Will you join Powered by People volunteers and Beto to make calls next Tuesday?

Thanks for your help,

Cynthia Cano
