Five years ago today.

Jason, Five years ago today, we all watched in horror as Donald Trump incited a mob of MAGA insurrectionists to storm the U.S. Capitol. Their goal was clear: to stop the peaceful transfer of power. I remember that day vividly. I still remember the worn faces of our Capitol Police. I remember stepping over the broken glass that littered the hallways. It sometimes feels like yesterday. I voted to impeach Donald Trump for his actions on January 6th, which I believe should have disqualified him from ever holding office again. But here we are on the 5th anniversary and many of insurrectionalists were back, this time with pardons in hand from Donald Trump. If I hadn't seen them with my own eyes today, I'm not sure I would have believed it. January 6th was a disgraceful day in our democracy. We cannot forget. Stay in the resistance.
