Can you support our voter registration work in Texas?

We have over 1,500 volunteers who are working hard to help us register voters across Texas. Can you make a donation today to help support their important work?

Dear Jason,

I've got some good news. More than 1,500 Texans who receive these emails from me have signed up for trainings to become Volunteer Deputy Registrars (VDRs). In Texas, one must be trained and certified as a VDR in order to register new voters in their home counties.

I can't think of more important work for us to be doing, especially when you consider that Texas is the most voter suppressed state in the country and that our democracy is being challenged unlike any other time in our lives.

These 1,500 who've signed up so far are capable of making a big difference in Texas. If they were to each only register ten voters over the course of the year, that would be 15,000 new voters on the rolls. But, since we're more ambitious than that, let's look at the change they could make if they were each completing one registration per week: by the end of the year there'd be more than 78,000 new voters participating in our elections.

Now imagine that if instead of 1,500 VDRs, we had 5,000 — maybe ultimately 10,000 VDRs — doing this work in 2021. That's when we really begin to have the numbers to turn the tide in Texas.

In order to do this, we need your support so we can recruit and train more VDRs. Can you make a donation of $10 today to help us grow this vital program?

Contribute $10

In 2018, we had more than 20,000 volunteers knocking on doors for my Senate campaign and we helped produce the biggest turnout since 1970. Last year, we had nearly that same number making calls and texting voters and, even in the midst of a pandemic, we helped set another turnout record for Texas.

Think about what we could do if we matched this extraordinary ability to turn out voters with hundreds of thousands of new people on the rolls. It could help make the difference in State Representative, Congressional and even statewide elections.

Make a donation today to help us reach more volunteers and get them trained to register new voters in Texas.

I'm looking forward to doing this work with so many of my fellow Texans (I'm signed up for VDR training too), and helping to get Texas moving in the right direction.

Beto
