Hi Jason, My name is Josh Harder - I'm a husband, a new dad, and the democratic Congressman from California's 9th district, one of the most competitive races in the country. ☝️ That's me with my wife Pam and our daughter Lillian! I want to thank my good friend Katie Porter for giving me the opportunity to introduce myself today and tell you a bit about why my race in California is a must win if we're going to take back the House from MAGA extremists. Here's why you should care: I was first elected alongside Katie Porter in the 2018 Blue Wave when I won a surprise win against a Republican incumbent. Since then, I've beaten back two MAGA opponents in some of the closest races in the country. We already know this election will be our toughest yet. This year, a well-funded Republican is trying to flip this seat red. In fact, we just had an election where I received 50% of the vote while Republicans won 50%. Way too close for comfort! GOP Speaker Mike Johnson has put me at the top of his target list for 2024. He knows this is one of the 3 seats that will determine who controls Congress next year. It's all going to come down to what happens in our race and he's going to flood my district with millions in attack ads. National Republicans have already started attacking me. If you lived in my district, you would already be seeing ads calling me an "extreme" Democrat. (The truth is, I'm a leading voice against extremists like Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene.) Like Katie Porter, I refuse to take corporate PAC money to fund my campaign - and I stick to that pledge. That means I'm relying on grassroots supporters like you to help me fight back against the millions of dollars that corporate special interests will spend to turn this seat red.
