We have some good news, some bad news, and some outright dirty news for you:
The good: Under President Biden, America has seen record federal investment in infrastructure. Yay!
The bad: Much of that investment is going to car-centric infrastructure like roads and bridges. Boo!
The dirty: A couple of states are going out of their way to spend more money on car-centric infrastructure and neglecting public transit services. Texas is spending $12 billion to widen I-45; meanwhile, Alabama is spending only 1% of the $168 million they got from the infrastructure bill on mass transit.1
Thankfully, Democrats in Congress are stepping up and introducing the Build Green Act to invest federal dollars specifically toward green transportation. 💪
We're going to fight like hell to get the Build Green Act passed — but we're going to need your help. Can you chip in $3 to build our movement for green transportation today?
The Build Green Act would spend $500 billion over 10 years to address our nation's largest source of greenhouse gas pollution: transportation.
