Jason, my sister-in-service Ayanna Pressley is up for reelection in the Massachusetts primary next Tuesday, September 3 — the last primary for the Squad this year.
Between demanding answers and accountability from the leaders of Project 2025, traveling to get-out-the-vote for Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush, and hitting the trail for Vice President Kamala Harris, Ayanna has been a relentless force for our movement this year.
As lobbyists, Wall Street, and corporate PACs are working to buy up our communities and sell them to the highest bidder, it's important that we demonstrate strength in all of our primary elections this year — so our movement can compete against millions in outside spending now and in the future.
Ayanna and I have worked together for the past six years — speaking truth to power, legislating, and advocating for bold, progressive change. We refuse to take money from mega-donors and corporate PACs that want to buy our elections, because they don't care about fighting for economic, social, or racial justice.
Ayanna's record speaks for itself on canceling student debt, protecting abortion rights, growing our care economy, and closing the racial wealth gap. She is building a movement for equity and justice, and keeping the people closest to the pain closest to the power.
But there's still more work to do, Jason, and it's important that we continue strengthening our movement now so we can fend off attacks in the future.
I'm in this fight with Ayanna, and our campaigns are both people-powered. That's why I'm asking if you can please split a contribution of $5 or anything you can to support our campaigns and our unapologetic progressive movement that centers people and policy over profits.
Thank you for standing with our movement.
With gratitude,
Alexandria
