Our campaign is facing a major deadline this Saturday, August 31st in order to get our TV ads on the air. This is the most important deadline we've had so far and it's going to take everyone's help to reach our goal.
Josh has always said that we have to meet voters where they are — whether that's knocking on neighbors' doors, shaking hands at local events, or making sure our message is heard while voters are watching their favorite TV shows. We know TV ads work, but getting them on the air isn't easy.
First, we have to write the ads and make sure they have the correct message. That takes months of planning and then a day-long shoot where we record and edit the ads. It's actually a lot of work that goes into just 30 seconds that you see on TV!
Then it comes down to funding our TV spots. We're in one of the most expensive media markets in the country. Let's break it down: It costs $565 to earn 1 point on TV (or $252,000 for 500 points). These "points" measure how many voters we reach with our ads. The more points we buy, the more people hear our message — and the better chance we have to win this race.
The challenge? If we don't raise enough money to reserve the TV ads, Republican Super PACs will simply outspend us or there may not be enough spots to reserve. That's why we need to lock in the funding for our TV ads now - we can't wait until right before the election.
Our end-of-month deadline is in just a few days, and it's going to determine how much we can invest in these critical TV ads. We need to raise another $16,500 to reach our goal, and we need to do it in the next 5 days!
Remember, Josh doesn't take a penny from corporate PACs, so we're relying entirely on support from people like you to keep up with GOP spending.
