Jason,
Forget the doom-scrolling for a minute – I've got something that's actually going to make you smile. Across the country, a new generation of leaders stepped up to fight for our values – and won.
In Texas, emergency nurse and community organizer Molly Cook secured a decisive victory for State Senate District 15. As one of the youngest members of the Texas Senate, Molly brings vital healthcare expertise and a proven track record of organizing for change. She'll be a fierce champion for public health, affordable energy, and protecting fundamental rights when we need it most.
In Georgia, 23-year-old former teacher Bryce Berry made history as the youngest member of the Georgia General Assembly in modern memory. A former teacher and Morehouse grad who started as a youth organizer, Bryce ran an unapologetically progressive campaign focused on public education and affordable housing. When Leaders We Deserve invested in his campaign, we knew: Gen Z isn't asking for permission to lead anymore.
Out in Arizona, State Rep Oscar De Los Santos showed exactly why we went all-in to support him. When MAGA Republicans tried to keep an 1864 abortion ban on the books (yes, really), Oscar helped lead the successful fight to repeal it. Even after they kicked him off his committees in retaliation, he's still in there fighting. That's the kind of courage we need right now.
And in Ohio, Christine "Teeny" Cockley flipped a crucial seat to become the youngest Democrat in the state legislature. Growing up in rural Ohio, she learned how to build bridges while standing firm on progressive values. Now she's headed to Columbus to fight for affordable healthcare and reproductive freedom.
These victories show what's possible when we invest in the next generation of leadership. While the national headwinds are tough, these leaders prove that when we organize around our values and support bold champions, we can win anywhere.
Jason, are you ready to help us find and support more groundbreaking leaders like these? Chip in $5 to power our work identifying and backing the next generation of progressive champions πͺ.
These wins belong to all of us. They show that even in challenging times, backing young progressives who refuse to back down from a fight can create real change where it matters most – in our states and communities.
Let's keep building,
David Hogg
