I won't BS you. This is a tough day.
Here's where we stand: Donald Trump has won the White House, and Republicans have gained control of the Senate.
BUT, Democrats still have a path to flipping the House of Representatives. Here's where we stand as of 12:09 PM ET, with 218 seats needed for Party control:
Winners have yet to be declared in several crucial swing districts. These too-close-to-call races include:
- CA-41 (Will Rollins),
- CA-45 (Derek Tran), and
- CA-47 (the district I currently represent, where Dave Min is running).
We always knew that control of the House would likely come down to swing districts in California. This is why we endorsed strong Democratic candidates here early and supported these campaigns' GOTV efforts until the polls closed.
No matter what happens, one thing is clear: we need to be ready to fight Trump's extremism and work every day to protect our rights.
