Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are coming for your health care.
Seriously. And they aren't even hiding it.
This week, the House is expected to vote on a budget proposal that would give tax breaks to billionaires and the richest of the rich.
How is Trump planning to pay for it? By fleecing our health care system and making it harder and more expensive for us to get care.
Here's what Trump and his cronies have put on the chopping block:
- Medicare and Medicaid funding
- Critical money for our safety net hospitals
- Help for middle class families with health insurance premiums
- Cost-saving preventative care programs that help keep seniors and low-income Americans out of hospitals
Who gets hurt? All of us! You and your family. Your neighbors. Your doctor.
If these cuts happen, they will put even more stress on our hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics—and risk turning away patients who can no longer afford care.
We need to stand with doctors, nurses, and medical staff and fight cuts that will hollow out our health care system.
It matters to all of us. There will be no bigger fight over these next four years than to protect our health care.
