I've got to be honest.
This is the first office I was ever elected to, and frankly, it takes some getting used to! I'm more comfortable in cargo shorts than a suit. And while I can't meet everyone who donates to this campaign, I wanted to share a bit more about myself.
As you may know, I first got my start by serving in the Army.
I was sent to military school when I was twelve. At the time, it was the absolute last place I wanted to be. But getting my start in the military taught me humility, teamwork, and the importance of serving others. And even as I started my life of public service, I had no idea I would grow up to be Maryland's first Black governor.
Now, a lot has changed, but the important things have remained the same: service, gratitude, and humility continue to be the foundation of everything I do.
These principles are what keep me grounded as governor, and they're the foundation of everything we're doing for Marylanders.
Now, I'm fighting for every Marylander to succeed and thrive. It may feel like an uphill battle right now, but I know we can do this together.
To succeed I need support from folks like you who believe in our mission. That's why I'm asking:
Will you make a donation of any amount to help us out?
Elevate,
Wes
