Jason,
Beto just unveiled his first major policy proposal -- an ambitious plan to tackle climate change. It'll cost $5 trillion over 10 years and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, matching the target in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal resolution. Now Beto needs your help to spread this plan to millions of Americans.
Climate change is the greatest existential threat we face, and we'll need a full-scale mobilization of our economy and democracy to address it. This is on every single one of us, and our work starts now:
We're gearing up for a massive month of door-to-door canvasses through May. The most effective way for huge numbers of people to get on board with Beto's climate plan is for them to hear about it from someone in their community, face to face.
We want to reach as many people with the plan this May, but we can't do it without volunteers like you stepping up to lead canvasses. Leading a canvass isn't hard: you'll meet up with other volunteers, read the training script and print materials for them, and head out to knock on doors together.
Look, when Beto asked people what issues were most important, climate change was one of the top concerns. Beto's plan is big. It's bold. And if we're able to tell enough people about it in the next month, we'll be well on our way to building the broad support we need to win the White House and put our plan in place, starting day one.
Imagine how good it will feel when Beto takes the most ambitious actions of any president ever to tackle this perilous threat starting right on his first day -- knowing that you were part of bringing this plan to the White House.
Nothing short of a monumental effort of people talking to people will get us there, and we're starting now. Are you in? Add your name to get started with everything you need to lead a climate canvass in your community.
Thank you for being part of this,
Team Beto
P.S. If you'd rather lead a canvass to talk about other issues broadly, instead of one focused on Beto's climate plan, you can sign up to lead one here.
