Jason,
FDR once said, "True individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence." Yet this ideal remains out of reach for most Americans. The rising cost of housing, healthcare, education, childcare, and other necessities has significantly outpaced income gains. Total debt for US households has surpassed $17 trillion, and more than one in three adults can't afford to cover a $400 emergency expense without taking on debt.
For our country to prosper, we must give Americans the tools to achieve economic security. That means:
✅ A livable minimum wage of $17 per hour;
✅ Affordable housing and ensuring that Wall Street can't corner the market on single-family homes;
✅ Quality, affordable healthcare, paid sick leave, and childcare for $10 a day; and
✅ Student debt forgiveness up to $50,000 and free public college.
Tell Congress: Take action to guarantee economic security for all Americans.
As a member of Congress, I've dedicated my career to pushing for policies that work for all Americans, not just the wealthy. Every person deserves the freedom to pursue the American Dream, and that starts with providing a guaranteed standard of living that addresses our fundamental needs.
