Hi,
It's Rob Bonta, Attorney General of California. I want to thank you personally for joining our people-powered campaign that fuels the work I do to move California forward on the path to progress and justice.
A little bit about me: I live in the East Bay with my wonderful wife, son, and our dog Legolas. I also have two daughters — one who's in college and the other who plays professional soccer in South America. My parents moved to California from the Philippines when I was just two months old and instilled progressive values in me from a young age. As farm worker organizers alongside Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, and Philip Vera Cruz, they taught me the power of standing united in collective action and fighting for the rights of all people.
My parents' dedication to California's communities and working families inspired me to pursue a career in law and public service, as I went on to serve on the Alameda City Council and in the California State Assembly before becoming your Attorney General in 2021.
My role is twofold: as the People's Attorney and Chief Law Enforcement Officer of California, it's my job to fight for the rights and well-being of every Californian. Unfortunately, there are a lot of attacks being waged by powerful corporations and far-right politicians against our vulnerable communities and some of our most basic rights.
Right-wing extremists continue to chisel away at reproductive rights and threaten patients' health and safety with dangerous abortion bans and restrictions.
Big polluters are pumping greenhouse gasses into our atmosphere, fueling climate change and its devastating impacts, like worsening wildfires and extreme flooding.
LGBTQ+ youth are being discriminated against and outed against their will by their own schools.
Your fights are my fights. As your Attorney General, I'm focusing my time and energy on keeping our neighborhoods safe, holding corporate greed accountable in court, and fighting for your fundamental rights — which means I don't have much time left for fundraising.
That's why this campaign relies on grassroots donations from people like you: every contribution, no matter how small or large, helps sustain our movement for the long haul.
