Hi, it's Elyse, the daughter of Bob and Terese Casey.
This week marks two years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
Since then, 23 states have worked quietly and swiftly to pass laws restricting women's reproductive rights — including services like IVF.
I was only able to give birth to my two healthy boys because of IVF. After learning that I have a condition that makes it much more challenging to become pregnant naturally, I had no choice but to undergo numerous fertility treatments to become a mom. And, my dad was only able to become a grandfather because I had this unrestricted access to IVF.
I know the challenges many women and families across the country face when trying to start a family because I lived it. It is disturbing on a deeply personal level to witness Republican politicians' attempts to restrict women's basic rights to fertility treatments like IVF.
The stakes of this election could not be higher. We need leaders like my dad who will continue to stand up for our basic rights in Washington every day. That's why I'm asking if you'll join me in supporting my dad's re-election campaign by chipping in $5 or more today. He has a big deadline coming up and needs your help.
