Hi All - I was just talking to my campaign manager about our upcoming strategy and I want to share a few takeaways with you. As you read, I hope you'll consider donating with this link. Here's where we stand: As of today, we are 4 days away from our end-of-quarter deadline when we have to submit fundraising numbers to the Federal Election Commission. Based on what has come in through ActBlue, we are still $13,000 away from our goal. Why this matters: Republicans have not been shy about the fact that they need to flip my seat. I'm listed as one of Speaker Johnson's top targets and a Republican Super PAC has reserved $2 million in our media market. They've even called me "California's most vulnerable Democrat." If we lose this seat, we won't take back the House. It's that simple. What decisions we need to make: After this deadline, we will have to make some major decisions about how many organizing staff we can hire and how much we can put behind our digital ads to fight the GOP's attacks. It all depends on how much we raise before the deadline on Sunday. Other considerations: Dark money is always a huge threat in this toss-up seat. I'm one of the few members of Congress who vows not to take a dime of corporate PAC money (and actually sticks to it!) but I need your help to match the Republicans dollar for dollar to combat their onslaught of ads. If they spend $500,000 against us, we have to spend $500,000 in response. What I need from you: Well, I need your help to get us closer to our end-of-quarter goal before the end of the day. We're still over $13,000 behind and if we fall short, we won't be able to ramp up our organizing program or have enough resources to fight back against these negative ads.
