We're going to ask you to make your first contribution of $3 or more toward our $7,000 June fundraising goal. But before we do, let us explain why these fundraising goals are so important:
- The fossil fuel industry will continue to spend millions this year to stop climate legislation and influence Big Oil legislators who halt any climate progress at the federal level. So we need to make sure we have the funds to fight back against industry money.
- To win a Green New Deal, we must continue to fight for major federal, state, and local investments to be made immediately and at the necessary scale to effectively address the climate crisis by 2030. That means we need to hold our legislators accountable for making votes that worsen the climate crisis and doing research to drive the right policies.
- We are running out of time. If we cannot slow the effects of the climate crisis quickly, we will cross over an irreversible threshold. So we're ramping up our work now as we head into this critical year to drive forward the vision of a Green New Deal.
As a grassroots organization, we rely on grassroots donors to sustain our work. Small-dollar contributions add up in a big way, and we're hoping with a surge of donations today, we can hit our goal of raising $7,000 by the end of June.
