My name is Dulé Hill, but you may know me as Charlie Young, President Bartlet's personal aide.
The West Wing inspired an entire generation to get involved in politics, and I wasn't immune. Like many who grew up with the show, I was left with the belief that we must come together to leave the world a better place than when we received it.
That's why I'm reaching out to you today. Our democracy is at risk this November. Republicans have already succeeded in turning back time on women's rights, and if they retake the Senate and the White House, they won't stop there.
As a public figure, I believe it's incumbent upon me to use my voice for good, so I'm asking you to support Bob Casey's re-election campaign for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania.
Here's why: The path to both the Senate and the White House runs through Pennsylvania, and if Bob Casey loses, Democrats don't stand a chance.
While Bob is fighting to protect women's rights, workers' rights, and voting rights, Republicans like his opponent are working to ban abortion nationwide, gut Medicare and Medicaid, roll back environmental protections, and cut taxes for the top 1%.
This November is about defending our democracy and our fundamental rights – and that's only possible if we keep Pennsylvania blue.
