Jason, this is going to be a long email because there's a lot going on right now.
Every day, we are watching the Liar in Chief wreak havoc with radical executive orders, unfit cabinet appointments, and anything else he can do to cause chaos.
Want to know the honest truth? We need a stronger Democratic Party to respond to this moment. That's one big reason I'm running for DNC Vice Chair. And it's the reason that we started Leaders We Deserve in the first place – to rebuild our party with the young, progressive leaders who'll actually fight to get us out of this mess.
Look, I know a lot of groups are asking you for money right now, even at a time when it seems like the Democratic Party is failing to win or deliver. I know it can be frustrating if you're chipping in, but you aren't seeing the results you want to see.
Here's what's different about Leaders We Deserve: We are recruiting a brand new wave of young leaders to come in and fight the worst of Trump's agenda AND show the positive, youthful, and modern direction we want for the party's future.
Think of it this way, Jason – this is our chance to reset the Democratic Party.
But there's no way around it. We cannot do this work without grassroots support.
Unlike the other side, we don't have a legion of corporatist billionaires ready to finance our efforts. There is no one waiting in the wings with a $5 million check.
Instead, we're building this movement with $5, $10, and $25 at a time. (Some folks may give more when they're able – and at the end of the day, it all really adds up.)
That's why I'm writing to you today, Jason. We need people like you – people who understand that the Democratic Party needs a reset – to join us in the fight.
