According to a just-released poll, Republicans Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco are the top two vote getters in this race.
With CA's jungle primary system, they could advance to the general election and shut Democrats out completely from advancing to the general election in November.
But among informed voters, Katie Porter is at 22% of the vote — leading other Democrats by 12 points and both Republicans. She's the only Democrat who can land in the top two in June's primary, advance to the general election in November, and prevent a Republican from becoming California's next governor.
We'll be blunt: with such a crowded field, there is a real risk of a Republican becoming California's next governor.
Katie Porter is the only candidate in this race who can prevent that from happening—but we need the resources to reach millions of voters across all of California.
We don't want to wake up the day after the primary election and wonder if there was anything else we could have done.
