Jason, I want to follow up on our efforts to support Minnesota leaders targeted by the Trump Administration.
Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis is facing an investigation for speaking out and insisting on accountability for the violent occupation of his city by the federal government. And the reason ICE is in Minneapolis is because Donald Trump wants them there. ICE wears masks and uses deadly force because they are obeying Donald Trump.
I am enraged and heartbroken for Alex Pretti and Renee Good, for their families, for Minneapolis, and for America.
America watched Donald Trump react to these tragedies in real time and blame the victims. Investigation blocked. No patience. No compassion.
A full and fair investigation at the state level is absolutely necessary. We cannot stand for the pure gaslighting — especially from the President of the United States.
So when Donald Trump launched a politically motivated investigation into Mayor Frey for protecting his community, I knew I had to rally together this team to respond.
Mayor Frey will have to defend himself in a potentially long, difficult, and expensive fight that will require extensive resources. I told him personally that he could count on this team's support, so I am asking:
