Today, I want you to hear this directly from me: I'm running for re-election to serve as your California Attorney General.
I'll level with you — over the past few months, I've been carefully considering how I can best serve Californians as we face unprecedented challenges.
I'm grateful to work with so many people who care so deeply for this state and its future. And as we look toward that future, my resolve is firm — our fight against relentless attacks from this Trump administration, escalating corporate greed, and rising costs requires a leader with battle-tested experience.
Over the past week, we've all watched a dystopian horror come to life.
The murder of Renee Good in Minnesota was terrifying and tragic. And the immediate push from our federal government to gaslight Americans and distort the narrative to serve themselves reaffirmed something I feel in every fiber of my being: in this moment, my place is here as Attorney General — shielding Californians from the most brazen attacks on our rights and our families.
Over the last five years, we've built a wall of protection around this state. A legal fortress around our freedoms and our values that not even the most unlawful president can tear down.
Over the last year we've sued Donald Trump more than 50 times — and we've won. Again and again and again.
Together, we have proven that when California fights, we win.
This is why I have decided to continue my campaign to earn another term as your Attorney General.
We are at our strongest against the rising tides of tyranny when we stand together, each of us clear-eyed and committed to the roles we must play.
When we turned on our TVs last week to see federal agents gunning people down in their own neighborhoods while at the same time the President attacked innocent children, vulnerable families, and child care providers, it reminded us all that Trump's attacks aren't just a policy dispute, they are an assault on the California Dream itself — the idea that everyone here should be safe, free, and treated with dignity.
My vision for the California Department of Justice is that we remain the nation's largest and most powerful check on the abuse of power.
We aren't just defending the status quo. We are securing the California Dream for the next generation.
Together we fight, together we lead — and together, we must finish the job.
I am fiercely committed to doing whatever it takes to stop unlawful power grabs from the federal government, defend our immigrant communities, protect reproductive freedom, safeguard our environment, hold greedy corporations accountable, keep our communities safe from gun violence and fentanyl trafficking, and stand up to abuse of power wherever it appears — and to do all that, I'll need you with me.
Today, please become a founding donor to my 2026 campaign for re-election to the office of Attorney General. No amount is too small — your contributions add up to make all of this work possible.
