Jason,
Yesterday was unusual for the 2020 campaign. Out of all 24 candidates, only one held any public campaign events. That was Beto. An MSNBC reporter in South Carolina asked Beto about being the only one on the trail, and his response was absolutely perfect:
"This campaign is relentless. I'm going to fight for this country every single day and do everything it takes to bring everyone into this democracy."
Jason, we are going to win this primary. We might be outraised, but we'll never be outworked. We'll always be R-E-L-E-N-T-L-E-S-S. Every single one of us: our volunteers, our grassroots donors, and Beto himself.
In just 13 days, we have a major FEC fundraising deadline. This is our chance to show how relentless we all are — matching the work Beto is putting in on the ground by posting strong fundraising numbers in our official FEC report.
As we head into debate season, I can't think of a more perfect word that gets to the core of this campaign. Beto just finished a 12-day, four-state, 29-event road trip where he took hundreds of questions from voters and did dozens of interviews with reporters. And yes, he even made it home to celebrate Father's Day with Ulysses, Molly and Henry!
Let's be like Beto, and let's be relentless every single day.
Talk soon,
Chris Evans
