The AG is reminding abortion providers and patients of their rights before Arizona's near-total ban goes into effect.
Earlier this month, the Arizona Supreme Court upheld the state's 1864 near-total abortion ban — a law that was written before women could vote and before Arizona was even a state.
Now, the clock is ticking until this "zombie" abortion ban takes effect — but Rob and the state of California are doing everything in their power to help our neighbors and protect everyone's reproductive freedom.
A bill was introduced in the state assembly that would allow licensed Arizona abortion providers to receive expedited temporary licenses to practice medicine in California — that way, abortion providers can travel to California to provide reproductive health care services.
Meanwhile, Rob issued guidance reminding abortion providers and patients of their rights in California. In our state, the laws protect anyone from out-of-state anti-abortion laws directed at patients, providers, volunteers, and anyone who helps someone get the reproductive care they need. Our laws also criminalize harassment of patients at abortion clinics and protect providers' and patients' private information from being shared with anti-choice state governments or law enforcement.
Under Rob's watch, California will ALWAYS remain a safe haven for reproductive rights and health care, whether you live here or anywhere else in the country.
Will you support Rob as he defends our freedoms from right-wing attacks by pitching in $5 or more before Tuesday's end-of-month fundraising deadline?
