Today, Terese and I are celebrating 39 years of marriage. That's an accomplishment I'm proud of.
I'm often asked about the secret to a successful marriage. I believe that the combination of humor, understanding, forgiveness, and love is what has made my marriage with Terese so happy and strong.
Our first date was actually a blind date for a dormitory dance. If you had told me that a blind date would lead to a beautiful marriage, four amazing daughters, and two wonderful grandchildren, I wouldn't have believed you — especially because I showed up an hour late.
But here we are, 39 years later, with so much love and good fortune in our lives.
