Now, you might be wondering, what does that even mean? Why do we need to raise $10,000 before midnight on Friday?
The thing is, we're taking on some really powerful — and wealthy! — opponents. The fossil fuel industry is spending big to keep their profits rolling in at the expense of our environment, our climate, our health — and our very lives.
And they've had a decades-long head start on us. They've built a massive, well-funded lobbying and influence operation in Washington.
But we have a secret weapon: you. Our tens of thousands of grassroots supporters mean that, if everyone reading this email chipped in a few dollars each, we'd hit our goal in no time. And reaching that goal means we can do more organizing, recruit more supporters, and build more power.
Person by person, we raise $10,000. Person by person, we expand our movement. Person by person, we build the power to beat the fossil fuel companies.
And, person by person, we achieve a Green New Deal.
