It's not a secret that the fossil fuel industry spends millions of dollars a year to halt any progress on addressing the climate crisis.
Just in California alone, Big Oil spent a record $25.4 million on lobbying costs — with Chevron leading the group with the most spending.1 Not only do they spend millions on lobbying our elected officials, they also contribute millions to campaigns. In a recent join investigation by the Senate, it was reported that former President Trump requested $1 billion from Big Oil executives and promised to roll back environmental protections when elected.2
This adamant corruption from the fossil fuel industry stunts any meaningful action to address the climate crisis. At a time when Big Oil spends millions and boasts record profits, we need to ramp up our own resources to fight back.
That's why we're coming to you. This movement has the people power to advocate for our elected officials to fight back against the dirty fossil fuel money and take meaningful action to address the climate crisis. We can't let up in that fight, especially during this critical election year.
