Jason,

In 2018, Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (TX-16) — along with Beto's Senate campaign, the El Paso Democratic Party, and End Citizens United — organized the first Border Bus Tour. The tour was a chartered bus full of volunteers who drove the entire length of the US-Mexico border in Texas, stopping to speak to voters, holding rallies, and knocking on doors along the way.

This year, the Border "Bus" Tour is going fully virtual due to the coronavirus pandemic, and we're inviting Powered by People supporters to join us this year to generate excitement for the upcoming elections. Will you join us for a couple hours next week?

In 2018, after the Border Bus Tour, Texas voter turnout increased 77% over the previous midterm election, and saw the highest midterm turnout in four decades. In El Paso, turnout increased 149.2% from the previous midterm.

And in many of the cities we visited, the people we spoke to said it was the first time they've been asked to vote — ever. That's exactly what we're trying to change, one interaction at a time, and fight to earn every vote to flip Texas blue and stop Trump forever along the way.

See you on the dialer,

The Powered by People team
