Members of Congress shouldn't be allowed to trade stocks.
It shouldn't be controversial to stop corruption, but even when Democrats controlled the House, Senate, and White House—we didn't get this done. I pushed my colleagues to take action here but the truth is, this is a problem on both sides of the aisle.
Can you sign our petition to show your support for a ban on congressional stock trading?
My bill, the STOCK ACT 2.0, would effectively ban stock trading by ensuring "blind trusts" are truly blind. It would extend to Members' spouses and children, and include real and serious consequences for breaking the law.
Americans have low trust in our government, and they're right to be concerned. We as Members of Congress need to earn our constituents' trust and help restore faith in our democracy.
I'm running for the U.S. Senate because we need leaders at the highest levels who are willing to stand up to the status quo and demand change. But I can't get there alone. Consider supporting our campaign by signing on or making a donation today. ⬇️
Thanks for being a part of this,
Katie Porter
