As governor, I'll fight to make sure the federal government leaves Californians alone—no politically motivated attacks on our neighbors.

F*ck ICE.
Donald Trump's latest attacks on immigrants are horrific. Untrained, masked, violent federal agents are invading our communities, violating the law, and killing innocent Americans.
Alex Pretti spent his days caring for veterans as a nurse, and stood up to protect his neighbors. Renee Good was a mom dropping her kid off at school. Both of them are senselessly and needlessly dead because of this administration's cruelty.
The deaths at the hands of DHS agents and the thousands of lives they've upturned were funded by all of our tax dollars. We have to stand up and say no more.
As governor, I'll fight to make sure the federal government leaves Californians alone—no politically motivated attacks on our neighbors.
But until Congress gets its act together and puts a stop to this, it's on us to protect each other.
I saw what that looks like firsthand when I toured the ICE Detention facility in Otay Mesa during Trump's attacks on our immigrant community in his first term, and the memories and stories I heard there are on my mind daily.

I met with an incredible advocate from Al Otro Lado, who was leading the way then as she is today. They provided a wide range of resources to immigrants, refugees, and people who have been deported including legal representation and know-your-rights training.
If you're able, please donate whatever you can to Al Otro Lado to support their work in this critical moment for our country and our state.
We'll get through this—together.
Thank you,
Katie Porter
