Friends, let me explain what's going on with the Trump administration and more than $10 billion in federal child care funding right now:
→ First, Trump's HHS illegally froze billions of dollars in federal funding for five blue states — with zero evidence to justify doing so.
→ Then, I sued him — like I've done every time Trump breaks the law or violates the Constitution.
→ Within 24 hours, a federal court granted a temporary restraining order to block the funding freeze.
That's good, but it's not enough. Low-income families rely on these funds to afford child care so parents can work or go to school — so now, I'm fighting to extend the court's much-needed protection so families across California and the other targeted states don't pay the price for Trump's reckless and illegal maneuvers.
And look — it's no coincidence that Trump is targeting only blue states here. Since day one of his administration, he's been attacking Democratic-led states in an effort to force us to comply with his extreme agenda. But if he thinks it will work, he's sorely mistaken.
California will never back down when it comes to defending our rights and freedoms. That's exactly why I'm running for re-election to serve as your Attorney General.
