We talk a lot with you about the polls, about pushing for free child care, about less expensive housing, and about fighting for working Californians.
But today, I want to talk about the rest of me and what my life actually looks like.
When the cameras are off and the whiteboard is packed away, I'm just a single mom trying to keep up with the same everyday things a lot of families deal with.
I drive a minivan. I make dinner for my kids. And recently, I finally got ahead of a mountain of laundry that was waiting to be folded. The other night I even made a coconut white chocolate cake for my book club (recipe is here!)
Moments like this—driving the kids to activities, cooking dinner, catching up with friends—remind me why I'm running. Life shouldn't feel this hard for working families.
Too many Californians are juggling sky-high child care, full-time jobs, and rising housing costs. Too many politicians are completely disconnected from real life.
I'm running for governor because I know what it's like to balance a budget at the kitchen table. I know how stressful it is when costs keep rising but paychecks don't.
My campaign is powered by grassroots supporters who believe California should work for the people who live here, not billionaires, lobbyists, or corporations writing massive checks.
