Leaders We Deserve ran a poll in this district back in July. Back then, we found that Patrick’s biggest hurdle against incumbent Stephen Lynch was name ID.
We sent direct mail for four weeks in a row to help boost Patrick’s name ID and his progressive message to voters. And since then? He’s gained 15% on Lynch! As one of our supporters, you helped to move this race into single digits.
Here is why this matters: Despite the fact this is a safe blue seat, during his 25 years in office, Congressman Lynch has proven to be one of the most Conservative Democrats in Washington. He’s the last Democrat still in office who voted against the Affordable Care Act. He gave ICE $209 million for programs that caged unaccompanied children without real oversight, he was “Pro Life and Proud of it” most of his career, and he’s taken millions in corporate PAC money. And if that wasn’t enough, when a constituent asked Lynch to do more to fight back against Trump, he yelled this entitled response at them: “I get to decide that. I get to decide that. I’m elected. You wanna decide that, you need to run for Congress.” We couldn’t be prouder to be helping Patrick Roath answer that challenge.
If we win this race it will send a clear message to Democrats in safe blue seats, you can not vote with Republicans on the legislation that is harming the American people and expect to be in power next term.
