Team Beto needs help from 90291

When we say that running in this race is a group effort –– we really mean it.

Beto for America

We have to raise $200,000 for our end-of-month fundraising goal to remain competitive in this race.

We can do this, but it has to be a group effort: If 3 more people from 90291 chip in even just $2 it would be a huge help.

Contribute $2 »

Jason,

We can't emphasize enough how much of an impact it would have if just 3 more supporters from 90291 contributed even just $2 to our campaign.

  • We're sprinting to raise another $200,000 before the end of the month.
  • Hitting this goal will make a big difference on whether we'll have the resources to keep funding certain programs in our budget.
  • Our chances will get a whole lot slimmer if we have to slash funds from our organizing teams, media advertising, or strategy to qualify Beto for the November Debate.

So when we say that running in this race is a group effort – we really mean it.

Because Beto doesn't rely on a handful of wealthy donors or a super PAC to fund this campaign, we're relying on everyone in our grassroots movement to help out. We hope you step up Jason and chip in $2 or anything you can from 90291 today.

Contribute $2

Beto has made it clear that this race is about getting everyone involved.

We hope that today 90291 joins us in chipping in and making sure our campaign has the resources we need to keep fighting.

Beto’s response to Joe Biden

After Joe Biden went back on his no super PACs pledge, CNN asked Beto if he would do the same. Here's what he said:

Beto for America

Did you see this, Jason?

First, Joe Biden flipped on his own No Super PACs Pledge deciding to encourage billionaires to form a massive one that can bankroll his campaign with unlimited contributions from corporations and special interests.

Then, CNN asked Beto if he would do the same in order to compete with Biden trying to buy this primary — but Beto said, "There is no room for PACs or Super PACs. We're running a grassroots campaign."

Now, a lot of people are saying this could put us at a major disadvantage — unless our grassroots movement proves otherwise. Help us win the right way, and show how powerful grassroots donors can be: Chip in $10 or anything you can now to get Beto's back on this.

Contribute $10

Super PACs can receive UNLIMITED contributions from corporations and special interests. So it's no wonder CNN asked Beto if he'd reconsider taking these giant checks. But take a look at the transcript of what he said:

"We see far too much influence from those who can buy access and increasingly outcomes in our legislation and in our elections...There is no room for political action committees, or super PACs…I haven't taken PAC money for more than five years. We're running a grassroots campaign. Everyone who has gone to betoorourke.com and donated $10 has fueled this effort to make sure that we can get out to voters. That's the way that our democracy should work, and I'm going to stay with my commitment not to take PAC money or super PAC money in this race."

We're proud of Beto's answer. He is taking a bold stand against the corruption, greed, special interests, and corporations that have influenced our elections — and Washington, DC — for far too long. That's the leadership we need.

But it's clear that we're now competing against more big money than ever before and need your help so we can stay competitive in our fundraising. Will you chip in $10 and help us raise $200,000 before the end of the month?

Let's stand strong with Beto,

Starting tomorrow

We have a huge week ahead of us. To be frank with you –– a lot of people will be watching our campaign and whether we rise to the challenges we're facing.

Beto for America

Hi Jason,

We have a huge week ahead of us. To be frank with you –– a lot of people will be watching our campaign and whether we rise to the challenges we're facing.

Our Democratic opponents are watching whether we're going to be able to get the last qualifying polls we need to get Beto on the debate stage in November.

Trump and the NRA will be watching if the money they've been pouring into attack ads smearing Beto are working. They're determined to make an example out of Beto and scare Democrats from fighting for gun reform.

The media will be watching if we hit our end-of-month fundraising goal on Thursday and announce to the world whether we have the funds to run a competitive campaign.

So if you've been watching our campaign and waiting for an important moment to chip in to our campaign –– we've never needed your help more than we do now. Please chip in $10 and give us the resources we need to meet every challenge we're facing this week.

Contribute $10

When it comes to overcoming challenges, our grassroots movement knows a thing or two about defying the odds.

So speaking from experience –– trust us when we say that we can meet the challenges we face this week –– but it just depends on how many of our supporters choose to step up and believe that we are powerful when we fight together.

Will you chip in $10 and help us start this week strong as everyone begins to watch how our campaign rises to this critical moment?

Something incredible happened Thursday

To thank the supporters who have been stepping up to help, a lucky number of November Debate donors will be selected to receive a text from Beto.

Beto for America

Jason,

Something incredible happened on Thursday.

First: We sent this email to you about how Amy Klobuchar officially qualified for the November debate –– but Beto still hasn't met all the requirements yet.

Then: We asked you to show Beto the kind of support Amy got that allowed her to qualify for the debate.

And this is what you all did: A record number of you stepped up to give us the resources we need to reach the remaining requirements and qualify Beto for the debate.

To thank the supporters who have been stepping up to help, a lucky number of November Debate Donors will be selected to receive a text from Beto.

Don't miss out on this chance, Jason. Donate $10 today, get the chance to receive a text from Beto, and help us beat this debate deadline.

Jason,

This morning, Amy Klobuchar locked down her final requirement and officially qualified for the November democratic debate.

Beto still hasn't qualified.

Because our grassroots team is usually so strong — we've never had to worry before whether we'd be able to qualify for a debate. This is the first time we're seriously concerned Beto won't have the chance to speak his mind on the stage.

We're doing everything in our power to beat the deadline and get all of the requirements Beto needs to qualify — but pulling this off depends on how much money we raise this week. Will you chip in $10 and prove that Beto deserves to be on that debate stage?

Contribute $10

To be honest Jason, it's frustrating to see how the media hasn't fully captured the energy of our campaign and the rare courage Beto has when it comes to fearlessly confronting Trump's dangerous agenda.

We know that a majority of Americans agree with Beto's ideas.

We know that people love the way Beto speaks based on his own values, convictions, and beliefs.

And we know that if there's someone we can count on to fight tirelessly in uniting our country after the bigotry, racism, and division this Administration has sewn — it's Beto.

If we qualify for this debate, it would send a strong message that Team Beto is a force to be reckoned with in this race. Will you rush $10 and help fight for Beto's place on that debate stage?

Hi – I’m Margaret

I guess you can say that this day is like the "Organizing Olympics" or Super Bowl of my job. Everyone's watching. There's always that one underdog that blows us away. And how well this day goes — completely depends on how we start preparing — right here, right now.

Beto for America

Hi Jason,

I'm Margaret — I'm the Iowa Caucus Director for Beto's campaign.

100 days. That's all the time we have left from now until the Iowa caucus. This day is huge for 2 main reasons:

  1. The Iowa Caucuses will be the first opportunity that Americans will have to choose their preferred candidate for the democratic presidential nominee.
  2. Whatever happens on this day will determine how much momentum our campaign has going into Super Tuesday.

I guess you can say that this day is like the "Organizing Olympics" or Super Bowl of my job. Everyone's watching. There's always that one underdog that blows us away. And how well this day goes — completely depends on how we start preparing — right here, right now.

There's a lot of work that needs to get done these next 100 days. Please help us hit our fundraising goal and raise $400,000 so we can get the resources we need to share Beto's story with every single voter in Iowa.

Contribute $10

Getting ready for the Iowa Caucus is a huge endeavor.

With only 100 days left it's critical we start pouring more resources into rallying support for Beto, sharing his story with voters, and having as many human-to-human conversations as possible about how Beto has the courage to fight for the issues that Iowans care about most.

This means having the funding to meet people where they are. We have a motto here in Iowa, "Engage Everyone and Go Everywhere," but that requires us to supply our Iowa Team of organizers and volunteers with literature, pens, paper, clipboards, and gas cards.

Because we're running a grassroots-funded campaign, we have to be resourceful with what we have. But we know that if we raise $400,000 we can have enough resources to forge a breakout moment in Iowa and create the momentum we need to win the primary.

We hope you'll join us in making history, JasonThe world will be watching what happens in Iowa and I want you to have a piece in making this happen, please chip in $10 to boost our organizing efforts on the ground right now.

Let's ride,

Margaret

A note on the DNC’s requirements

Eight top candidates have qualified for the November debate. Beto isn't one of them. We can't let this slide.

Beto for America

Jason,

We just got an updated list of who has qualified for the November debate and wanted to share it with you. Out of the top nine candidates in this race, only one has NOT yet qualified.

Take a look at which of the nine have met the DNC's requirements:

✅Joe Biden
✅Elizabeth Warren
✅Bernie Sanders
✅Pete Buttigieg
✅Kamala Harris
✅Andrew Yang
❌Beto O'Rourke
✅Amy Klobuchar
✅Cory Booker

We can't let this slide. To state the obvious, we need to get Beto on the debate stage. And we can't just wait and hope for the best — we have to take this into our own hands. That's why we've put together an aggressive grassroots plan to make it happen. But our ability to carry out each part of this plan depends entirely on how much we raise this week. The less we raise, the more we have to cut from the plan. The more we raise, the more work we can do.

Will you chip in $10 and prove that Beto deserves to be on that debate stage? Every dollar you pitch in today will go towards running a robust campaign that ensures we do everything possible to qualify for debates.

Contribute $10

Candidates have until one week before the debate to qualify so we're starting to run short on time. That's why we've been putting together a plan that combines proven strategies from throughout our entire campaign –– from organizing on the ground everywhere and running digital ads online to getting our message out to as many voters as possible.

At the end of the day today, we'll decide which of the ideas we can afford to do and which we have to say no to for the week ahead. Since we're a grassroots campaign that's powered 100% by people, we can't rely on big PACs, corporations, lobbyists, or special interests to come in at the last second and get Beto over the line. It's on us, every single one of us.

Will you rush $10 and help fight for Beto's place on the November debate stage? Every dollar counts as we do everything possible to meet the DNC's requirements.

Thanks for all you do,

Team Beto

Joe Biden

When we say this campaign is all people, no PACs, we mean it. It's not some gimmick or catchphrase. It's the right way of doing things, and the only way we can truly make sure we put power back into the hands of the people.

Beto for America

Jason,

When we say this campaign is all people, no PACs, we mean it. It's not some gimmick or catchphrase. It's the right way of doing things, and the only way we can truly make sure we put power back into the hands of the people.

But to be completely honest — it's not easy. Grassroots fundraising is hard work, especially when we're trying to meet a critical deadline (like we are now to qualify for the November debate). So when we heard that Joe Biden went back on his no super PACs pledge and decided to encourage billionaires to form a super PAC to bankroll his campaign — you could say we were frustrated...and concerned!

Let's be very clear: super PACs exist so corporations and special interests can spend unlimited money. And you don't spend unlimited money unless you're hoping to gain influence. We're competing against more big money than ever before in this race and we need your help so we can stay competitive in our fundraising. Will you chip in $10 and help us raise $200,000 before the end of the month?

Contribute $10

We knew that our decision to be a grassroots-funded campaign would make it difficult for us to financially compete with other candidates.

But we also know that candidates taking money from super PACs undermines our democracy and hinders us from fighting for real change.

Campaigns don't give up on their values because they feel confident about where they're going. They change course because they're scared. Scared of losing, sure, but scared of losing to grassroots-funded campaigns. Yes, it's corrosive that billionaires and lobbyists can use super PACs to help nudge their preferred candidates along. But it's also saying something: grassroots donations matter. And they're working.

We're fighting to do what it takes to put people — regardless of wealth and influence — back at the heart of our politics. We're taking a stand against the corruption and greed that has influenced our elections.

Help us win this the right way, and show our competitors how powerful grassroots donors can be: Chip in $10 or anything you can now.

We don't need a super PAC. All we need is you.
